DAY 3

Woke up at 530am attempting to catch the sun rise from our room but was disappointed as we couldn't see much colour:( We checked out of Toba Village Inn after breakfast and headed for the roads again. Drove another 2 hours headed towards Berastagi, and had several stops along the way. The roads were mostly up the mountains so we kept getting picture perfect sceneries.

We drove to see the Parapat-SiPiso piso waterfall, where we walked a thousand steps down to reach the foot of the waterfall. With every step down that we took, we knew the every step up was going to be worse........ The heat certainly did not help at all, so if you are heading there please take food and water with you for some energy boost!

The steps were STEEP.
We finally reached the bottom of the waterfall and it felt so good! Couldn't capture a good picture of the entire waterfall from below because the water was hitting us (and the camera) quite badly.

Made it back up.

Reached Berastagi city after having lunch and walked around the shops - which had nothing but touristy stuff as seen all over. We took a ride with the horses because - touristy things. Although I felt really bad sitting on the carriage as the horse was pulling us on the roads. I mean, this is just not their natural habitat and obviously the locals use them as money making tools to attract tourist.
:(

We checked into our hotel for the night - 'Mikie Holiday Resort'. The hotel was nice and spacious, much more modern compared to our previous one. We explored the area and found a amusement park right beside the hotel - which was closed but we made our way in anyway. Best. decision. ever. We literally had the whole amusement park to ourselves, which felt so much different from the crowded joy filled park we usually go to.

DAY 4

We didn't have any time to explore as we had to catch our flight at 12pm. Wanted to take a picture with our lovely driver but all the cars behind us were horning so badly when we alighted at the airport..... It was a great trip overall - in fact it only felt like two whole days and not four, but it was really a trip just to relax and explore where we've never been to before. If you're looking for a place just to relax and have a short get-away from our city life, consider Medan.

Watch our travel vlog here! Directed, mostly shot by and edited by my dear friend Felicia :-) Hope this post on Medan interested you and feel free to ask me anything if you're thinking of heading there!

That's all for now, will be writing on past destinations like Taiwan, Bangkok, Laos and US when I find the time to:-) Thanks for reading!

Love,
